Students
Our students are creative, have significant previous research training, and are passionate about science. They actively participate in shaping their own education by designing research projects that cut across different research fields, by choosing one or more mentors to oversee their research projects, by taking courses tailored to their interests, and by running a research seminar that allows for open discussion of their research and that of others. In addition, the students are responsible for inviting speakers to our Seminar Series.
Our alumni have performed exceptionally well. Their average time to receive their Ph.D. is 4 years. Each has continued their training through postdoctoral fellowships, choosing mentors at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, and Case-Western Reserve University.
